Itinerary

Day 1 Airport - Windhoek

As soon a Welcome to Windhoek! Arrive at the airport, then pick up your rental car along with all your travel documents. You’ll wrap up all paperwork by early afternoon, then spend the rest of the day relaxing and settling in. In the evening, head into town for dinner at one of Windhoek’s cozy restaurants.

Day 2 Windhoek-Keetmanshoop

We will pick you up from your Hotel or Guesthouse between 7am and 8am and depart at 9am. We travel through the Kalahari Desert, stopping at small towns along the way including Rehoboth, which is a town in central Namibia just north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Located 90 kilometres south of the Namibian capital Windhoek. Rehoboth is traditional home of Baster people. Later in the afternoon we check in the hotel in Keetmanshop and rest for the day.

Day 3Keetmanshoop- Fish River Canyon

This morning we continue our journey to the Fish River Canyon, the second largest Canyon in the world. On the way just outside the town, you will have the opportunity to visit Mesosaurus Fossil Site. Here you have the opportunity of seeing the Quiver tree. Quiver trees are the world rarest flora species. Next on our agenda is the mighty Fish River Canyon. The Canyon landscape and views are amazing. This will be the ideal opportunity for memorable photos during our excursion.

Day 4Fish River Canyon-Lüderitz

This morning (optional) we head to the main view point where we can see how impressive this canyon actually is. This is an ideal opportunity for photos and to spend some time experiencing this amazing sight,after our activities, our next destination is Lüderitz, a coastal town in south-western Namibia. It’s known for its German colonial buildings. Along the way, we pass through small towns. Depending on the day, we might spot some desert horses. We aim to arrive at our Hotel during the late afternoon. Dinner will be atclient’s own expense tonight.

Day 5 Luderitz-Aus

Today after breakfast, you will have time to join optional excursion such as boat cruise and many others. These activities are subjected to availability and are at your own expenses. Our tour continues to Diaz Point to see birds and seals. Straight after the marine trip we drive out to Kolmanskop, a desert ghost town about 20 km out of Lüderitz. It was built in the 1920’s during the diamond rush and was abandoned when bigger and better diamonds were found further along the coast. The area is still abandoned and the desert has encroached over the entire town, giving an eerie feeling and real meaning to the word “ghost”. Tonight we overnight at Aus. The settlement is small but has a number of amenities including a hotel, police station, shop and garage. It is located in the Aus Mountains above the plains of the Namib Desert. The climate is usually hot and arid but snow has been recorded in winter in 1963, and the area features the coldest winters recorded in Namibia.

Day 6Aus- Sossusvlei

This morning after breakfast. We proceed our journey to Sossusvlei, travelling on a dusty road passing through small rural communities along the way. We will arrive at the lodge or campsite in the afternoon. This time is extremely hot, we recommend that you spend the day cooling off by the pool. Early rest is required as tomorrow you are expected to wake early in the morning.

Day 7 Sossusvlei Area

Early in the morning, we will visit the Sesriem Gate to the remarkable Sossusvlei. We start off with climbing picturesque Dune 45, experiencing beauty and vastness of the orange-colored landscape. Offroad drive to the Dead Vlei, a place of vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient acacias stand silent in the impressive, open-air gallery. If you have enough energy, you can climb one of the highest dunes on Earth, the ‚Big Daddy ‘or ‚Big Mama. After the morning excursion, we will return back to Sesriem for lunch. We will take a break for 1-2 hours. Once the heat subsides, we will take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. This will be our last activities for the day.

Day 8 Sossusvlei-Walvis Bay and Swakopmund

Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today we will move from desert to sea. On our way we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side and watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, we will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. We will take a short break for lunch. We overnight in Swakopmund. Dinner tonight is at the client’s own expense in a local restaurant.

Day 9Swakopmund area

Explore the quaint town of Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour (for own account) in Swakopmund (guided tour through the Mondesa township, quad-biking, sand-boarding, a scenic flight over the Skeleton coast or a catamaran cruise in Walvis Bay). Many optional activities are on offer (for own account); visit the aquarium, various museums or the crystal gallery.

Day 10Swakopmund, Cape cross, Twyfelfontein

In the morning, we depart from the coastal town of Swakopmund to Cape Cross and Cape Fur Seal colony. After visiting the seals, we will turn east into the desert, towards Brandberg Damaraland, one of the most magnificent and majestic places in Namibia. In this area you can find elephants, giraffes, ostriches and a variety of antelopes! Optional activities such us, visiting the museum, Damara Culture and Petrified Forrest are on the card. These activities can be conducted the same day of arrival or the following morning before departing to Etosha

Day 11Twyfelfontein- Etosha National Park

After breakfast, depart Opuwo and drive to Etosha National Park. We will pass through small villages along the way to Etosha. We are expected to arrive in Etosha in the afternoon. We will drive through some parts of the National park in search of various games. We will be at our respective accommodation just before sunset. Dinner will sum-up the adventure and rest will be required so that we can be able to wake up early and fresh for the full day game drive tomorrow

Day 12Etosha National Park

An early rise will be encouraged to have the feel of nature and the fresh breeze. Soon after breakfast we will then start our game drive to allow us to have a magnificent exploration, we will visit the waterholes. We will get to visit the Etosha pan (salt pan) before game driving across the park in expedition of coming across the Big 4 and other animal species. A light lunch will allow us to rest, gathering energy for our next adventure. After a short relaxation we will then visit our last waterhole that will be the last appreciation of Namibia’s beauty. Before sunset we will be back to our accommodation place so that we can have dinner as we share stories of our experiences of the day and also share and compare beautiful photos.

Day 13San People & Rundu

We are going to visit Bushmen land and Hoba Meteor. The main mass of the Meteor is estimated at more than 60 tonnes.It is the largest known intact meteorite as a single piece. It is also the most massive naturally occurring piece of iron known on Earth’s
surface. The name “Hoba” comes from Khoekhoegowab word meaning “gift”.The San or Saan people, also known as the “Bushmen”, are members of various Khoisan-speaking indigenous hunter-gatherer groups that are the first nations of Southern Africa, and whose territories span Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and South Africa. We will learn more about their way of life, traditions and their cultural dances.

Day 14Grootfontein-Mahango Game Reserve

Today early after breakfast, we drive to The Mahango Game Park also known as the Mahango Game Reserve.This park is situated at the country’s eastern border with Botswana in the flood plains of the Okavango River basin, close to the Popa Falls on the river. The Caprivi Strip encloses the western part of the park. It is in this park where you find Baobabs trees, elephants, buffalos, sable and roan antelope, Chombe bushbucks, reedbuck, and many more.

Day 15Mahango-Okavango Delta

Today our journey takes us to Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is a vast inland river delta in northern Botswana. It’s known for its sprawling grassy plains, which flood seasonally, becoming a lush animal habitat. We will cross the border into Botswana and continue through small villages and towns. Botswana is open and vast with a lot of roaming animals alongside the road. We will arrive at our lodge/camp in the afternoon. Time to relax, have a drink and spent some time on your own. You might see some crocodile around here.

Day 16Okavango Delta

Today we spend most of the day on the Canoe traditionally known as mokoro, this is a type of canoe commonly used in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. It is propelled through the shallow waters of the delta by standing in the stern and pushing with a pole, in the same manner as punting. The mokoro or makoro – (mekoro, plural), is a traditional canoe-like vessel commonly used in the Okavango Delta as a popular mode of transport, and now utilised for game viewing safaris.

Day 17Okavango-Kwando River, Namibia

Leaving Botswana and return to Namibia. We will drive back to the Mahango Game Reserve. We will have another chance to spot some wild animals. We continue our journey along the Caprivi Strip Namibia, stopping through small villages and interact with the local people to learn more about their culture and heritage.

Day 18Kwando - Chobe River

Today after breakfast. We continue our journey through Katima Mulilo. We will stop here to buy water and other provisions before proceeding to Botswana/Chobe River. In the afternoon, we will take a boat cruise on the river. Chobe National Park has the world’s largest population of African Elephants and many Buffalos. During the boat cruise, there is a high possibility of seeing, hippos, crocodile, and others.

Day 19Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park, located in the north of Botswana, is an iconic safari destination. It is one of the most accessible and most visited safari areas in Botswana. Chobe is famous for its high numbers of elephant and Cape buffalo which can be viewed in their droves along the Chobe River. In the morning we will concentrate on the game drive in Chobe National Park until lunch time. Those that wish to do a boat tour or extra game drive, they can do so on their own cost.

Day 20Chobe -Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the major waterfall on the Zambezi River in Africa. It is famous for being the largest waterfall in the world. The African people who live around the falls call it Mosi-oa-Tunya which means “smoke that thunders”. After checking in the hotel, we will visit the Mighty Victoria Fall. There are many optional activities that you can do include the followings, bungee Jumping, rafting, helicopter flight, devil pool and many others, the guide will be able to arrange these activities for you. These activities are subject to availability and conducted at the clients own cost and
risk.

Day 21Victoria Falls-Departure
