Stop AtKolmanskop Ghost Town

We will pick you from the port or accommodation drive to Kolmanskop, Namibia’s most famous ghost town, and is situated a few kilometers inland from the port Luderitz. In 1908, the railway worker Zacharias Lewala found a sparkling stone amongst the sand he was shoveling away from the railway line, near Kolmanskop. His supervisor August Stauch was convinced it was a diamond and when this was confirmed, the news spread like wildfire, sparking a huge, frantic diamond rush and causing fortune hunters to converge in droves on. Explore the town as you take pictures

Stop AtLuderitz Museum

Find out about the area’s history, local indigenous communities, and the diamond-mining industry at Luderitz Museum. As one of the oldest private museums in Namibia, this building includes an extensive collection of artifacts and objects connected with the local history and wildlife. Inspect the museum’s collection of artifacts from the town’s German colonial era, with many items portraying the development of the area. Admire photographs, maps, and pictures of the town, and be amazed by the resilience of the early colonists, who battled the extreme climate conditions when they arrived.
