Itinerary

Day 01 Cotonou- Ouidah-

After breakfast, drive to Ouidah and dropped at the sacred forest to lo learn about the history and spiritual life of the Ouidah people. You have knowledge of as why voodoo ceremonies festival started. later you will go to the python temple why they worship the pythons. You can see many alive pythons in this temple. They don’t bite you can take photos with them. It is a principal totem of HOUEDA people, the biggest community in Ouidah. In the afternoon you witness the festival around the city. You will see the locals dancing voodoo to music and making sacrifices in the convents in the forest or at the beach where festivals take place. Dinner and overnight at Diaspora Hotel.

Day 02Ouidah- Grand Popo

After breakfast, you will go to the sacred forest where the ceremony starts. All voodoo priests around Ouidah leads the celebrations with Daagbo big pHounon, walking around the sacred forest and sacrificing animals for the different voodoos. At 11 O’clock we will drive to drive to Grand Popo where a big party is held. You will be entertained by locals and enjoy You will have to different traditional dances. Overnight at Grand Popo Hotel

Day 03Gbècon- Ouidah

After breakfast, board a rowing boat for a cultural excursion to the villages Gbècon and Hêvê. The boat will go through the mangroves of the river, depending on the tide. We explore the villages. Proceed to ‘’La Bouche du Roi’’, an unspoiled beach where the river comes into the sea. On the way back to Grand Popo you will visit the salt island. In the afternoon, we will attend a private voodoo ceremony in Grand Popo. Later visit the voodoo temple, where you will meet the priest of the voodoo HEBIOSSO also, called voodoo of justice, and symbolize by thunder. Dinner and overnight at Diaspora Hotel

Day 04Calavi- Ganvie- Ouidhah

In the morning, attend divination, the African oracle (FA) who foretells the future and any hiding or mysterious things. Drive to Calavi to visit Ganvie, the stilt village Ganvie best known as Venice of Africa. You’ll see how locals live on top of the water. Later you will drive to Ouidha, where you will be dropped at the airport for the onward flight.
