1.Mount Cameroon
Mount Cameroon is a spectacular, active volcano standing 4023 meters (13,000 feet) above sea level. It’s one of the largest volcanoes in Africa, the highest peak in West Africa, and the fourth-highest peak in all of Africa. Eruptions at the volcano date back to the 5th century BC, and you can climb it; just be aware that it still erupts every 10 to 20 years.
2. The Limbe Wildlife Centre
The Limbe wildlife centre is a beautiful example of an animal sanctuary. It is jointly run by the Ministry of the Environment and Nature Protection and the primate charity Pandrulis. It is home to chimpanzees, gorillas, drills, and other primates, all housed in large enclosures so you can get up close and observe these amazing animals. 3.Beautiful cities
West Africa might not be famous for its cities, but Cameroon’s capital, Yaounde, and commercial capital, Douala, is undoubtedly one. A day or two visits to these cities is worth it and more rewarding. Yaounde, the capital city of Cameroon, is planned to be spread over seven hills, meaning that the numerous buildings are separated by stretches of lush green and rising terrain. In addition to its layout, the city is clean and safe, with several places to visit, including ancient monuments and museums. 4.Vast Biodiversity
Cameroon due to its rich biodiversity earned it the nick ‘Africa in miniature’. The country has over 900 species of birds and more than 300 species of wildlife animals. If you are interested in ecology and wildlife, Cameroon is the place to be due to its wide range of attractions.
5.Tea Plantations
Perhaps you didn’t know Cameroon also manufactures tea. Cameroon has three tea plantation, the Ndu tea plantation, Tole tea plantations, and the Djuttisa tea plantation. A tour to this far end will take you to the processing industries to learn and see tea leaves being sorted, grounded and dried. Before leaving, you can have a cup of tea to taste.
6. Unique beaches
For some, it’s the whiteness of the sand and the clarity of the water. For others, it’s the ruggedness and the power of the waves. If a beach package is the point of interest, Cameroon has it all. Kribi in the south region and the Limbe in the south west regions are the best places to experience the crystal clear waters and fine, sparkling- white or black volcanic sand.
