    Itinerary

    Day 1Windhoek- Namib Desert/Sossusvlei

    We will pick you up from your Hotel or Guesthouse between 8am and depart at 8:45am straight on the way south to world-famous Sossusvlei via picturesque Spreetshoogte Pass. We will then have a Stop-over at the view point to appreciate endless view of the Namib. Our lunch at the Solitaire oasis. We will arrive at the lodge or campsite around 3-4 pm. This time is extremely hot, we recommend that you spend the day cooling off by the pool. Early rest is required as tomorrow you are expected to wake early in the morning.

    Day 2Sossusvlei, Dune 45, Big Daddy, Dead Vlei & Sesriem

    Early in the morning, at sunrise, we will visit the Sesriem Gate to the remarkable Sossusvlei. We start off with climbing picturesque Dune 45, experiencing beauty and vastness of the orange-colored landscape. Off-road drive to the Dead Vlei, a place of vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient acacias stand silent in the impressive, open-air gallery. If you have enough energy, you can climb one of the highest dunes on Earth, the ‚Big Daddy ‘or ‚Big Mama. After the morning excursion, we will return back to Sesriem for lunch. We will take a break for 1-2 hours. Once the heat subsides, we will take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. This will be our last activities for the day.

    Day 3Sossusvlei-Walvis Bay & Swakopmund

    Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today we will move from desert to sea. On our way we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side and watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, we will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. We overnight in Swakopmund. Dinner tonight is at the client’s own expense in a local restaurant.

    Day 4Swakopmund Area

    A free day today offers you that offers you ample time to explore the town. Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach (although the Atlantic is quite cold here sometimes) and an open-air curio market. There is also a very good museum and the Namibian National Marine Aquarium is located in Swakopmund. Alternatively, there are various optional activities that can be arranged. These include a boat-tour (with oysters and champagne) scenic flights and micro-light flights over the desert, fishing trips (either from the beach or in a boat), quad-bike trips into the desert and over
    the sand dunes around Swakopmund, sandboarding, skydiving and many other activities. All extra activities in Swakopmund are subject to availability. Dinner and lunch tonight are not included in the price of the safari and will be at the client’s own expense.

    Day 5Swakopmund-Twyfelfontein

    In the morning, we depart from the coastal town of Swakopmund and continue our safari along the skeleton Coast. Along the way, we will visit the shipwreck and proceed to Cape Cross Seal colony. After visiting the seals, we will turn east into the desert, towards Brandberg Damaraland, one of the most magnificent and majestic places in Namibia. In this area if fortunate, you can find desert elephants, giraffes, ostriches and a variety of antelopes! Experience cultural and ethnic meeting with the Damara tribe at the Living Museum surrounded by fascinating nature, rock formations and magnificent landscape of Damaraland.

    Day 6Kamanjab-Otjiwarongo

    Today we rest until 10 o’clock in the morning, thereafter, we will visit the Himba cultural village. Himbas are indigenous people with an estimated population of 50 000 living in the northern Namibia. They are known for their red matted braids, which are painstakingly made by mixing animal fat, ash and ground ochre, a stone found locally. We will learn spend ample time with these people to learn more about their culture and tradition. By the way the Himbas are the only tribes in Namibia that can share a wife with trusted friends and family members. Later in the afternoon, we will proceed to Otjiwarongo, visit the crocodile ranch before proceeding to the lodge for the night.

    Day 7Otjiwarongo- Windhoek

    Today is a day of a scenic drive back to Windhoek. We pass through towns and rural areas, stopping in the small town of Okahandja, the home of Namibia’s largest wood carving market. The stalls operate on a local co-operative basis and offer a vast array of truly Namibian souvenirs. We are back in Windhoek around 10:30 in order for us to be on time for our flight.
