In every September nomadic clans from the Niger region come together in the middle of the country for massive celebrations comprising of feasts, camel races, markets, and Male Beauty contests. The celebrations are termed as Gerewol festival, and is the largest in the region.

Drive to Abalak for a Gerewol festival. It is an annual courtship ritual competition among the Wodaabe Fula people. Young men make up in traditional painting and ornamentation. They gather in formations to dance and sing vying for the attention of marriageable young women. All meals included and night stay Tuareg Tents Campement Bororo.
