Later, enjoy a specially arranged photo and portrait session featuring the Azohoun masks. This immersive experience offers a rare opportunity to observe and capture the intricate costume designs, expressive movements, and symbolic artistry that bring these cultural traditions to life.

After an early departure, the journey continues to Porto-Novo, where you will check in and prepare for a full day immersed in one of the region’s most vibrant cultural celebrations.
The day unfolds with the grand opening procession marking the official start of the Festival of Masks, as ceremonial groups enter the city in a powerful display of heritage and spirituality. Experience the profound presence of Egungun masks rooted in Yoruba ancestral traditions, engaging in dynamic ritual performances and symbolic dialogue with the living. Witness the elegant Gelede mask dances, recognized by UNESCO for their cultural significance, honoring motherhood and societal harmony. As evening approaches, encounter the mysterious Zangbeto guardians, known for their twilight appearances and role in maintaining cosmic order.
