Your adventure begins in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic. After breakfast, you’ll depart by 4×4 vehicle toward the Lobaye Forest, passing through traditional villages, coffee plantations, and rolling green hills. By midday, you’ll arrive at a forest base camp, where you’ll be welcomed by your guide team and BaAka porters. Settle into your tent and take a short forest orientation walk before dinner. As the sun sets, the forest comes alive with sounds—frogs, insects, and distant whoops of monkeys.
Accommodation: Tent camp with forest shelter
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Wake early to a chorus of birds. After breakfast (including local forest pancakes with honey), begin your first full-day trek. You’ll walk under dense canopy, identifying medicinal plants, spotting butterflies, and learning about edible roots, lianas, and forest signs. Keep an eye out for red colobus monkeys, duikers, and hornbills. Your guide will teach you how to walk quietly and read forest tracks. After a picnic lunch in the shade, continue hiking to a deeper forest camp, where you’ll spend the night.
Accommodation: Deep forest camp (portable tents)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today’s route takes you to sacred areas used by the BaAka for rituals and resource collection. You’ll learn how they use tree bark, vines, and mushrooms as medicine. In the afternoon, participate in a BaAka survival workshop, learning how to make fire without matches, build leaf shelters, and set non-lethal traps. You’ll also prepare a simple forest meal using wild herbs. End the day with BaAka storytelling by firelight—a unique cultural treasure.

Return to camp in the early evening and relax with tea under the stars.
