The Marangu Route is one of the most popular routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. It is often chosen because it is generally more affordable and offers a shorter trekking experience compared with routes such as Machame.
Unlike most other Kilimanjaro routes, Marangu provides shared mountain hut accommodation, offering trekkers a more comfortable alternative to camping. The route passes through diverse landscapes, from lush rainforest to alpine desert and the high-altitude summit zone.
This 7-day itinerary allows an additional acclimatization day, giving trekkers more time to adjust to the increasing altitude and improving their chances of reaching the summit successfully. Meals and refreshments are provided during the trek, while drinks and beverages may also be available for purchase at some mountain camps.
