After check-in, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and a brief orientation about your upcoming safari adventures. Spend some time settling into your comfortable tent and taking in the sights and sounds of the surrounding bush. As the afternoon cools, embark on a sunset mokoro ride along the Boteti River (subject to water levels). Glide quietly along the calm waters while watching for hippos, crocodiles, and the many waterbirds that frequent the riverbanks. Your experienced guide will share fascinating insights about the area’s ecosystem and wildlife. Return to the lodge to freshen up before gathering around the open fire for a delicious traditional dinner under the stars. The calls of the African night complete your first magical evening on safari.

Wake up to the sounds of the bush and enjoy freshly brewed coffee and rusks before departing early for your full-day safari in Moremi Game Reserve. A continental breakfast will be served upon arrival at the entrance to Moremi before you venture into one of Botswana’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Moremi Game Reserve is renowned for its incredible diversity of wildlife — from lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog to elephant, buffalo, giraffe, red lechwe, and over 500 bird species. Travelling in an open safari vehicle, your professional ranger will share insights into animal behaviour and the intricate balance of the ecosystem. A packed lunch will be served at a scenic spot deep within the reserve, allowing you to relax and take in the wilderness around you. Continue exploring until late afternoon, enjoying the ever-changing landscapes and wildlife encounters that make Moremi unforgettable. After your safari, proceed to Khwai Mokoro Safaris and Campsites, where you’ll spend the night under a canopy of stars in a dome camping tent. Depending on your arrival time in Khwai and your preference, you may choose to enjoy an afternoon mokoro safari on the Mbudi River, gliding quietly through the tranquil floodplains in search of elephants, lechwe, and abundant birdlife. Guests may also choose to return to Boteti Tented Safari Lodge instead (no rate reduction applies). For those seeking additional comfort, an upgrade (at extra cost) is available to a tented lodge such as Saguni Safari Lodge or similar in the Khwai area.
Accommodation:
Standard: Khwai Mokoro Safaris and Campsites (Camping)

Wake up to the peaceful sounds of Khwai and enjoy a light breakfast as the sun rises over the floodplains. Guests who did not take the mokoro safari the previous afternoon may opt for a morning mokoro excursion on the Sable Alley River, offering a serene and intimate way to experience the waterways of Khwai. Glide through the winding channels as your poler points out birds, frogs, and the gentle ripples left by passing wildlife — a tranquil end to your adventure. On your way back to Maun, enjoy a game drive through the Khwai Community Concession, one of Botswana’s most scenic and wildlife-rich areas. Explore the riverfront along the Khwai River, where elephants, hippos, and red lechwe are often seen feeding in the shallows. Continue to Dead Tree Island, a striking landscape dotted with skeletal acacias and teeming with birdlife and predators. Drive onward through the Mogotho area, a favourite among wildlife enthusiasts for its high density of game, and visit the hyena den, a special highlight that offers fascinating insights into the behaviour of these intelligent scavengers. After an amazing experience in Khwai you will be dropped off at Maun Airport or your preferred drop-off point in Maun.
