Delta Wilderness Safari: 7-Day Moremi & Khwai Expedition

Arrive at Maun International Airport, where you’ll meet Mack Air for your charter flight (approx. 14:00) to Xakanaxa or Khwai Airstrip. Your guide will meet you on arrival and transfer you to camp.
If you’re arriving earlier or staying in Maun, we can arrange transfers and coordination directly with your accommodation.

Spend your first three nights camping in the Xakanaxa region, exploring the area on guided game drives.
Wildlife: From the air, spot elephant herds, buffalo, and hippos in the waterways. On the ground, see diverse plains game, predators, and smaller species.
Birding: Look for raptors such as African Hawk-Eagle, Tawny Eagle, and Dark Chanting Goshawk, alongside Botswana’s many hornbills and cuckoos including the Red-billed, Southern Yellow-billed, and Great-spotted Cuckoo.

Explore the heart of Moremi Game Reserve, one of Africa’s most beautiful and biodiverse wildlife sanctuaries.
Habitats include floodplains, papyrus channels, mopane woodlands, and savannah — home to an astonishing variety of wildlife.

Wildlife: This is one of Africa’s best areas to spot African wild dogs, along with lion, leopard, elephant,    and large herds of buffalo.
Birding: Moremi’s lagoons host Wattled Cranes, African Skimmers, Saddle-billed Storks, Goliath Herons, and the rare Slaty Egret.

After breakfast, depart for the Khwai Community Area, bordering the northeastern edge of Moremi and adjacent to Chobe National Park.
Spend two nights camping in an exclusive riverside site. Enjoy both day and night game drives for a complete wilderness experience.

Wildlife: The Khwai River attracts elephants, buffalo, and predators such as lion, leopard, serval, and African wildcat.
Birding: A paradise for birders — highlights include Rosy-throated Longclaw, Bat Hawk, Long-crested Eagle, and African Crake.

Immerse yourself in the diverse habitats of Khwai — from dry leadwood and camelthorn forests to lush floodplains and marshes.
Morning and afternoon drives offer exceptional photography and wildlife encounters.

Wildlife: Expect excellent sightings of elephants, antelopes, giraffes, and predators.
Birding: Search for Greater Painted Snipe, Lesser Jacana, and Martial Eagle among over 400 bird species recorded in this region.

After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive en route to Khwai Airstrip, where you’ll board your charter flight to Maun.

This marks the end of your Botswana wilderness adventure.
