A day trip in the capital of Palawan – Puerto Princesa City will make you appreciate the cultural and historical value of the place. In this tour, you will learn a slice of influences we have assimilated during the Spanish, Japanese and American occupations. You will see the prison without walls called Iwahig, have a short encounter with our native Palaw’an, try handloom weaving, buy pearls and cashew, and see the religious center of the city.

Puerto Princesa Port
10:30am-6:15pm
After pick up at the port, you will start the safari to Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm. The guide will tour you around the area of the Central Iwahig via van to see inmates working and their unique situation in the prison house. You will stop at their handicraft shop where you can buy some items they make that gives them livelihood in the area.
Then continue to Binuatan creations where you will move around this livelihood project. Then a local weaver will teach you how to weave manually using the handloom. You will also get to visit their finished product area.
Afterwards, you will stop at the Palawan Butterfly Ecological garden and tribal village. The in- house guide will tour you around the area of the garden and in the tribal village where you will meet/see one of our local indigenous groups called Palaw’an.
Then to Palawan special battalion memorial museum where the guide will show you around their gallery and collections in relation to World War 2 and its story that happened in Puerto Princesa.
Next stop at Local Gift Shop – you will be able to see local products like cashew and the famous Palawan south sea pearls before continuing to Immaculate conception Cathedral, the main church in the city.
The tour to Puerto princesa cannot end without a stop at Plaza Cuartel. The guide will describe more of the area on the day.
Pass by city Baywalk Park on way back to the port.
