Upon arrival in Tokyo, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred privately to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local izakaya, where you’ll have the chance to meet your fellow travelers and sample authentic Japanese cuisine. Overnight in Tokyo.

Day 2Tokyo: Traditional Foundations

Begin your exploration of Tokyo with a visit to Senso-ji Temple and the bustling Nakamise Shopping Street in the Asakusa district. Continue with a cultural walking tour, followed by a traditional tea ceremony and kimono-wearing experience. In the afternoon, visit the Samurai Museum to delve into Japan’s warrior history. Overnight in Tokyo.

Day 3Tokyo: Where Future Meets Culture

Experience the immersive art of teamLab Planets before heading to Tokyo Skytree for sweeping views of the city skyline. Spend the afternoon exploring the vibrant neighborhoods of Shibuya and Harajuku, including the famous Shibuya Crossing. In the evening, opt for a unique experience such as a manga café or a high-energy robot show. Overnight in Tokyo.

Day 4 Mt. Fuji & Hakone Escape

Embark on a day trip to Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station (weather permitting) for up-close views of Japan’s iconic peak. Continue to Hakone for a scenic Lake Ashi cruise and a ride on the Hakone Ropeway. Check into a traditional ryokan, relax in hot spring baths, and enjoy a multi-course kaiseki dinner. Overnight in Hakone.

Day 5Shinkansen to Kanazawa

Travel by bullet train to Kanazawa, a city rich in heritage. Visit Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s top three gardens, and explore the historic Samurai District. Learn about gold leaf production at the Gold Leaf Museum and treat yourself to gold-leaf soft serve ice cream. Overnight in Kanazawa.

Day 6Kanazawa Art & Heritage

Spend the day immersed in culture and art with a visit to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. Enjoy a traditional tea ceremony in a teahouse, then use your free time to explore local markets or crafts. You may also choose to try on a traditional samurai outfit. Overnight in Kanazawa.

Day 7Arrival in Kyoto & Gion Night Walk

Today, embark on a scenic train ride to Kyoto, taking in the picturesque views along the way. Upon arrival, visit the historic Yasaka Shrine, a vibrant and culturally significant site nestled in the heart of the city. As evening falls, take a leisurely walk through the charming streets of the Gion district, famous for its traditional wooden machiya houses and glimpses of geisha culture. For a more immersive experience, consider an optional private geisha dinner or attend a traditional cultural performance. You’ll spend the night in Kyoto, surrounded by the elegance and history of Japan’s former capital.

Day 8Kyoto Spiritual Sites

In Kyoto, begin the day at Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of red torii gates. Continue to the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and visit the nearby Monkey Park. Later, experience a Zen meditation session at a local temple and enjoy a traditional vegetarian Buddhist lunch. Overnight in Kyoto.

Day 9Nara Day Trip

Take a day trip to Nara, home to some of Japan’s oldest and most impressive temples. Visit Todai-ji Temple to see the Great Buddha, walk through the friendly Nara Deer Park, and explore Kasuga Taisha Shrine. Return to Kyoto for a hands-on sushi-making class in the evening. Overnight in Kyoto.

Day 10Kyoto Free Day or Optional Excursions

Enjoy a free day in Kyoto or choose from several enriching optional activities: take an ikebana (flower arranging) class, try matcha-making in Uji, or hike to the mountaintop Kurama-dera temple. In the evening, join an optional street food crawl through Nishiki Market. Overnight in Kyoto.

Day 11Hiroshima & Miyajima

Ride the bullet train to Hiroshima and visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Museum, a powerful and moving tribute to the city’s past. Then take a ferry to Miyajima Island to see the iconic “floating” Torii Gate of Itsukushima Shrine. Sample Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki before settling in for the night. Overnight in Hiroshima.

Day 12 Osaka: Culture & Street Food

Travel to Osaka in the morning and visit the impressive Osaka Castle. Wander through Kuromon Market before heading to the lively Dotonbori district for a street food tasting tour, trying local favorites like takoyaki and kushikatsu. Optionally, spend the afternoon at Universal Studios Japan. Overnight in Osaka.

Day 13Osaka Free Day + Farewell Dinner

Enjoy free time in Osaka for last-minute shopping or sightseeing. You may opt to take a cooking class or visit the beautiful Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine. In the evening, gather with the group for a farewell dinner featuring a photo slideshow and a parting gift to commemorate your journey. Overnight in Osaka.

Day 14Departure Day

Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to either Kansai or Tokyo airport. Assistance with check-in and tax refunds will be provided if needed. This marks the end of your unforgettable tour through Japan.
