Welcome to Zambia! Your adventure begins as you arrive in Lusaka, the capital city, at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN). After clearing immigration and collecting your luggage, proceed to the arrival lounge, where a friendly greeter will be waiting for you with a hand-held board featuring your name for easy identification. You will be warmly welcomed and escorted to your transfer vehicle.
You will then be transferred to StayEasy Lusaka Hotel, located at Levy Shopping Mall at the corner of Church and Kabelenga Roads (GPS Coordinates: S 15 24′ 10” | E 28 17′ 7”). Upon arrival, check in and settle into your comfortable room.
There are no scheduled activities on this arrival day, so you can take some time to rest, explore Levy Shopping Mall, or prepare for the exciting journey ahead. Your tour leader will collect your insurance and next-of-kin details, so be sure to have them ready.
In the evening, join your fellow travelers and tour leader for a welcome dinner at a selected restaurant. Enjoy a delicious meal while getting to know your travel companions. Your tour leader will provide a briefing on the adventure ahead, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the days to come.
After dinner, return to StayEasy Lusaka Hotel for a restful night. Get a good night’s sleep as the adventure begins early the next morning!
Start your day early with a refreshing bath to prepare for the exciting journey ahead. At 6:20 AM, our team will pick you up from the reception area of your lodge in Lusaka. We’ll begin the adventure as we depart in an overland vehicle, traveling along the T-2 Great North Road.
As we head north towards Kapiri Mposhi, enjoy the scenic drive through small towns and villages. Upon reaching Kapiri Mposhi, we will turn right onto the T-2 highway and continue for 88 km towards Mkushi.
After a long but pleasant drive, we’ll arrive at Forest Inn Lodge, located at Great North Road Farm 2917, Mkushi. This peaceful lodge offers a charming wooded camping area with clean, tastefully equipped rooms, all fitted with mosquito nets for a comfortable stay. Settle in and relax in the tranquil atmosphere of the lodge.
In the evening, take some time to unwind, explore the surroundings, or simply enjoy the peaceful setting. Enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring for a restful night at Forest Inn Lodge. Rest up for the next day’s adventure!
Wake up at 5:30 AM and enjoy a refreshing bath to start the day. By 6:30 AM, we will depart from Forest Inn Lodge in Mkushi, beginning the journey towards Kasanka National Park, located 119.1 km away. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views as we travel through Zambia’s stunning landscapes.
We will arrive at Kasanka National Park around 11:30 AM via the Malaushi barrier gate. Kasanka is a hidden gem, covering 390 km² and located on the fringes of the Bangweulu wetlands. Known for hosting the largest population of bats on Earth, the park attracts visitors from around the world. It also boasts a rich variety of wildlife, including rare antelope species, hippos, crocodiles, and a wide array of birdlife.
After a short rest, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, embark on an exciting afternoon game drive to explore the park’s rich wildlife. Time permitting, enjoy birdwatching and game-viewing in the nearby bush, where you can spot rare birds and smaller game species.
At 7:00 PM, enjoy a delicious dinner under the African night sky. Afterward, around 9:40 PM, retire for the night in a camping-style accommodation, where you can fully immerse yourself in the true wilderness experience of Kasanka.

The day begins with a wake-up call at 6:00 AM, followed by a refreshing bath. At 6:30 AM, enjoy a delicious breakfast to energize you for the day ahead. By 7:00 AM, we set off for a full-day wildlife and birdwatching excursion around Luwombwa Camp and other prime birding areas in Kasanka National Park.
Kasanka is home to the elusive Sitatunga antelope, thriving in its wetland habitats. The park plays a key role in conservation, hosting endangered species and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Explore the Luwombwa River and Bufumu Forest, where you can climb a treetop canopy tower for stunning birdwatching opportunities.
After a full day of exploration, we return to camp at 4:30 PM for some relaxation. At 6:00 PM, enjoy a sumptuous dinner under the African sky. By 9:00 PM, retire to bed in the heart of Kasanka’s wilderness for a peaceful night’s rest.

After a wake-up call at 5:30 AM, enjoy a refreshing bath and breakfast. At 10:00 AM, visit Chitambo Mission, where you’ll discover the historical legacy of Dr. David Livingstone in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). Explore two key sites: the David Livingstone Memorial Monument and the replica hut marking where Dr. Livingstone passed away.
At 11:00 AM, depart for Samfya, arriving around 3:30 PM. Experience breathtaking views of Lake Bangweulu, renowned for its pristine white sand beaches—some of the most beautiful in Africa. Enjoy leisure time by the lake before settling in for the night.

Spend the morning and afternoon enjoying beach and water activities along the scenic shores of Lake Bangweulu. Take a boat cruise to view the stunning wetlands or opt to relax on the white sandy beach, swim, or explore local fishing communities.
In the evening, unwind as you watch the serene sunset over the lake—perfect for photography. Dinner will be served by the lakeside, followed by a restful night in a peaceful lakeside setting.
Destination Highlight: Bangweulu Wetlands
Bangweulu, meaning “where the water meets the sky,” is a vital ecosystem, home to over 400 species of waterbirds, making it a haven for birdwatching enthusiasts. It spans over a million hectares, offering a truly unique natural experience.

Wake up at 5:30 AM, take a bath, and enjoy a hearty breakfast. Depart from Samfya to Mansa, the capital of Luapula Province, covering a 40 km journey. Continue to Mumbuluma Falls, a series of stunning waterfalls cascading 5–10 meters each.
In the afternoon, explore Mumbuluma Falls, enjoying swimming in the natural pools, photography, and light hiking around the area. In the evening, either camp near the falls or check in at nearby accommodation. Enjoy dinner under the stars, accompanied by the sounds of cascading water.

Wake up at 5:30 AM, enjoy a refreshing bath, and have breakfast. Depart from Mansa to Kawambwa, covering a 217 km journey. Enroute, stop at Ntumbachusi Falls, a beautiful 30-meter waterfall on the Ng’ona River.
Explore the falls, enjoying activities such as swimming, photography, and light hiking. In the evening, enjoy dinner by the falls and relax in the serene ambiance. Spend the night either camping near the falls or checking into a local accommodation.

Start the day with breakfast and explore Ntumbachusi Falls, spending the morning appreciating the stunning series of pools and the 30-meter-high waterfall. Take time to relax by the falls or enjoy activities like swimming and light hiking.
In the afternoon, continue exploring the falls and the surrounding nature. You may also take a break for a picnic or enjoy some quiet time. Return to your camp or lodge for an evening of relaxation. Dinner will be served, followed by a restful night in Kawambwa.

Wake up and enjoy breakfast at your camp or lodge. After a relaxed morning, begin your return trip from Kawambwa to Mansa, covering the 217 km distance. Along the way, stop for photo opportunities and explore any spots you missed during your initial journey.
Arrive in Mansa by the afternoon, check into your accommodation, and relax for the evening. Enjoy a leisurely dinner and rest up for the next day’s activities.

Wake up and have breakfast before preparing for departure. Travel from Mansa to Serenje, covering 238 km. Upon arrival, check into Forest Inn Lodge or a similar hotel, and enjoy a delicious lunch.
Take a leisurely bird walk around the lodge, enjoying the vibrant birdlife and natural surroundings. In the evening, enjoy a hearty dinner and spend time updating your bird logbook. Retire for the night, resting for the next day’s adventure.

Continue your stay in Serenje with breakfast at your accommodation. Afterward, embark on a scenic journey to explore the natural beauty around Forest Inn. Enjoy a relaxed day with birdwatching and leisure activities.
In the evening, enjoy another delicious dinner, reflecting on your travels. Spend time with fellow travelers, enjoying your last night in Serenje.

On your final morning, wake up at 7:30 AM and enjoy a bath before breakfast. Depart for Lusaka by 9:00 AM, covering a 69.6 km journey in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Lusaka International Airport based on your flight schedule.
