Mali Experience 7 Days/6 Nights

Arrive at Bamako international airport where you will meet the driver and the guide for a pick-up and transfer to accommodation. If the arrival time allows, a short (late afternoon) tour of Bamako is made for a first impression of the town’s monuments like the Cathedral and the Independence Monument.

Morning departure and head to the direction of Ségou. Pay a visit to Segoukoro historical village, followed by a boat trip on the River Niger with visit to a fishing hamlet, lunch is eaten on the boat. Later drop-off at Soroblé bogolan center for an impression of the production of mud-cloth, and a visit to the colonial neighborhood, to the cathedral and to a traditional millet beer brewery (for a tasting). optional: around 4pm visit to the pottery market to see (with a bit of luck) the arrival and unloading of the pottery boats

Around 6am departure for the road-trip to Djenné. Stroll through the old town along Koranic schools and mud structures, visit the sacred well, Tapama’s tomb, climb a rooftop for a good view on the Great Mosque. The regional dish Tion Tion which will be prepared by the wife of our guide is served for lunch. Early afternoon departure for the drive back to Ségou. Visits to the interior of the mosque are reserved for Muslims.

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast before embarking on an all-day river cruise along the Bani River, heading towards Mopti. Throughout the journey, you’ll experience the vibrant life along the riverbanks. We’ll make stops to explore various Bambara, Bozo, and Fulani villages, offering a unique glimpse into the local cultures and traditions. On the way, we will also visit the bustling Tuesday market in Sofara. By the end of the day, we will arrive in Mopti, where you will settle into the comfort of Hotel Kanaga.

Start your day with breakfast followed by a tour of Mopti, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of this bustling town. Enjoy lunch at the renowned Bar Bozo restaurant, offering a fantastic view of the lively harbor. After lunch, we’ll drive to Bandiagara, making a stop at Songo to admire its ancient rock paintings. Conclude your day with dinner and an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in Bandiagara.

Start your day with breakfast before embarking on a drive to Segou, passing through the village of San, known for its Bobo architecture and a remarkable Mosque. Enjoy lunch upon arrival in Segou. In the afternoon, explore Segou, including its colonial quarters and observation of clay artisans at work. Conclude the day with dinner and spend the night at a hotel.

After breakfast, you will depart from your hotel for the journey back to Bamako. You will be dropped off at the airport or your accommodation. Please ensure to book an evening flight.
