It will be a full day tour to the city of Accra. Places of the visit include the Independence Square, have an opportunity to the enclosed flame of Africa that was lit by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1961. Also, visit Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where the first president of Ghana was laid to rest. The place is set in attractive gardens joined by the museum which has photos, artifacts, and insight of Dr. Nkrumah’s life. There is a National Culture Centre as well. It is the largest outdoor art and craft market in West Africa selling traditional crafts. Followed by James Town, Accra historical neighborhood where history resides. The town is well-known for its lighthouses that were constructed by the British in 1875 as a navigational aid for trading vessels. Lastly, walk around the Brazil House, learn more about the seven Afro-Brazilians families who returned to settle in Ghana in 1836. The most familiar name of Brazilian include; De Souza, Palmares, Azumah, Amorin, and others.

Today after breakfast, you will meet the guide at the hotel Lobby. Travel in an air-conditioned 4×4 to the Cape Coast, enjoying some snacks on the way. The first stop of the day is the Cape Coast Castle, one of about 40 slave castles or large commercial forts built on the Gold Coast of West Africa by European traders. Originally built as a Portuguese feitoria (trading post) in 1555, it was later used as part of the transAtlantic slave trade as a place slave were held before being loaded onto ships bound for the Americas. Next, visit Elmina Castle, erected by the Portuguese in 1482. The first trading post built on the Gulf of Guinea; Elmina Castle is the oldest European building in existence south of the Sahara. The last stop on the tour is Fort St Jago, also known as Fort Coenraadsburg or Fort São Tiago da Mina, a small Portuguese chapel built in honor of Saint Jago. Situated opposite the Elmina Castle, it was used to protect the castle and is one of the oldest military constructions on the Gold Coast.

Visit one of the most famous parks in Ghana, Kakum National Park. Take a brief walk through the forest floor. See birds, butterflies, and perhaps capture a variety of mammal’s species including the monkeys and reclusive forest elephant. In the afternoon you will have the the day to yourself to chill at the beach or engage into any optional activities at the Hotel.

After breakfast, you will enroute to Kumasi taking a detour to the Goldmine of obuasi The Asante gold mine at Obuasi remained the country’s major producer while others became depleted. It is one of the world’s richest gold mines in terms of yield per ton of ore. By the end of the 20th century, it was the 10th largest gold mine in the world. Visit the’ Slave River’ where capture African bathed before being confined into slavery castles waiting for shipment to the Americans and the Caribbean. visit the Ashanti craft villages such as the woodcarving village of Ahwiaa, well- known for artisans who fashion high stools, walking sticks, and fertility dolls from wood. You can purchase carved items of all kinds. Followed by the village of Ntonso where artisan’s hand-stamp patterns on a cotton cloth to make Adinkra textiles. Black-onblack and blank-on-red Adinkra cloth is worn on funeral and solemn occasions. You will have an opportunity to learn how to make black dye from the bark of trees. You can make your Adinkra sash to take home. Later continue to the village of Bonwire, the famous Kente cloth is handmade on looms in the time-honored tradition passed down through generations. In the process of creating Kente cloth in various styles, you will see kente weavers. You can purchase souvenirs or gifts. In the evening visit the Kumasi Central Market, also known as Kejetia Market. It is the largest open-air market in West Africa where more than 10000 vendors sell their wares.

Today after breakfast you will proceed to Ashanti Kingdom, Tour Manhiya palace the official residence of the Ashanti kings (Asantehene) until 1974. It is now a museum containing treasured items related to the Ashanti kingdom. You will also see Okomfo Sword, the ultimate symbol of Ashanti unity. It marks the spot where the golden stool ‘descended from the sky.’ It has been there for 300 years now, and legend has it said the Ashanti kingdom would collapse was the sword ever removed.

Kintampo waterfalls is one of the highest waterfalls in Ghana, located on the Pumpum river, a tributary of the Black Volta, this seasonal fall is from the Pumpu River which falls some 70 meters down beautiful rocky steps. The Kintampo Waterfalls has a more festive environment with lots of locals on picnics and shade where visiting individuals and groups can sit and have fun There are lots of trees, mostly dominated by Mahogany, some of which grow beyond 40 meters. Kintampo Falls is also a fine resting place when traveling between Kumasi to Mole National Park. Continue to Mole national park arriving in the evening for the overnight and dinner.

After breakfast depart for a mobbing game drive for baou two hours, if lucky you will see the elephants depending on the season. Mole National Park is Ghana’s largest wildlife refuge. The park is located in northwest Ghana on grassland savanna and riparian ecosystems at an elevation of 150 m, with sharp escarpment forming the southern boundary of the park. The park’s entrance is reached through the nearby town of Larabanga. The Lovi and Mole Rivers flow through the park, leaving behind only drinking holes during the long dry season. You will continue to Tamale an hour drive to catch your flight to Accra. Upon
arrival to Accra you will be our guide will transfer you to the hotel for the overnight.

We will pick you up from the hotel lobby at 8 am after breakfast. Drive about an hour to the outskirts of Accra to Cedo Beads. At cedo you will see the production of beads. Continue to Shai Hills Resource Reserve arriving late morning. The forest guard will guide you for about two hours hiking to the Shai people’s ancestral caves. You can’t miss seeing some wildlife like Kobs, Olives Baboons, monkeys and several species of birds.
