Highlights
Upon pick up at the port at 8:30am, start your epic excursion with a morning commute that takes you from your port destination in Arrecife to Lanzarote’s cleanses place–Yaiza Village. Here, you’ll indulge in morning coffee, at your first stop at a traditional restaurant in town. From here, you’ll drive through a scenic route of mountains forged from volcanoes on your way to El Golfo, where you’ll get to visit the Green Lagoon at your leisure. The small southern village is known for its fishing culture and is surrounded by volcanic mountains, making it a great place to take Instagrammable photos.
Your journey continues with a scenic drive near the vibrantly colored Salt Flats, where you’ll catch vibrantly colored salt fields that occur naturally due to the evaporation of the water from the nearby natural lagoon.
From here you’ll continue to the Fire Mountains, where you may continue your journey aboard an optional canal ride. Then get ready to skip the lines and enter Timanfaya National Park, for a guided tour of its lava fields while learning about how geothermal experiments are used for cooking food. Catch a fiery “lava show” via the crater route before stopping for a bite to eat at a local restaurant.
Continue your tour with a stop to indulge in a traditional wine tasting of volcanic wine before heading north to visit La Geria.
You’ll pass Lazonrate’s highest peak along the way and through Haria, where you’ll see the Valley of the Thousand Palm trees, where you’ll catch whitewashed homes against a backdrop of a volcanic landscape and palm trees.
Your final stop ends with a visit to the Cesar Manrique-developed art and cultural center of Jameos del Agua. Enjoy visiting its gardens, museum or enjoying the views of its subterranean Salt Lake before returning to your port destination. We ‘ll drive back to the port at 4:15pm.
