Day 1Antananarivo to Miandrivazo

Depart early for Miandrivazo, embarking on a scenic 8-hour drive through the breathtaking Malagasy highlands. As you travel, enjoy panoramic views of lush rice terraces and pass through traditional villages, offering a glimpse into the heart of rural Madagascar. Upon arrival in Miandrivazo, a town nestled on the banks of the Tsiribihina River, you’ll receive a detailed briefing on the upcoming river descent. This marks the start of your adventure, preparing you for the natural beauty and excitement that lies ahead on the Tsiribihina River.

Overnight at a hotel in Miandrivazo or similar 

Day 2Tsiribihina River Descent (Camping)

Begin your adventure in a dugout canoe or motorized barge as you glide along the river, taking in the stunning views of wild landscapes, towering sandstone cliffs, and the diverse local wildlife. Keep an eye out for crocodiles basking in the sun, lemurs leaping through the trees, and a variety of water birds in the lush surroundings. Along the way, stop at a beautiful waterfall with a natural pool, perfect for a refreshing swim. As the day winds down, set up camp on a sandy riverbank, where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner by the campfire under the stars, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of nature.

Day 3Tsiribihina River Descent (Camping)

Continue your descent along the river, making stops at remote villages nestled along the way. Take the opportunity to meet the local people, gaining insight into their traditional way of life and customs. As you pass through the riverside forests, keep an eye out for lemurs and other wildlife that inhabit the lush surroundings. Enjoy a night camping on the riverbank, where you can unwind under the stars and immerse yourself in the peaceful beauty of Madagascar’s wilderness. This is an authentic and immersive experience that connects you with both nature and culture.

Day 4Tsimafana to Bekopaka

End your river descent and arrive in Tsimafana, where you’ll transfer by 4×4 to Bekopaka, a roughly 4-5 hour drive on rugged, off-road terrain. The journey takes you through stunning landscapes, with scenic views of Madagascar’s unique countryside. Once in Bekopaka, you’ll arrive at the entrance to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, setting the stage for your upcoming adventure in this UNESCO World Heritage site. After the day’s journey, check in and relax at your hotel in Bekopaka, ready to explore the park’s incredible limestone formations the following day.

Day 5Bekopaka (Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park Visit)

Enjoy a full day exploring the Grand Tsingy, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its dramatic limestone formations. Hike across suspension bridges, navigating through the maze of sharp pinnacles, and marvel at the breathtaking rock formations that define this unique landscape. Along the way, observe the park’s diverse wildlife, including lemurs, reptiles, and endemic birds. For an additional adventure, you can visit the Petit Tsingy or take a pirogue ride along the serene Manambolo River, offering a different perspective of the stunning scenery. After a day of exploration, return to Bekopaka for an overnight stay.

Day 6 Bekopaka to Morondava

Return to Morondava, making a memorable stop at the famous Avenue of the Baobabs. As the sun sets, witness the breathtaking sight of the towering baobab trees silhouetted against the vibrant colors of the sky, creating a magical and unforgettable experience. Day 7 Morondava to Manja

Depart by 4×4 for a full day of off-road driving through the vast savannah and remote villages, immersing yourself in the rugged beauty of Madagascar’s countryside. As you journey through the challenging terrain, you’ll pass by traditional communities, offering a glimpse into the island’s rural way of life. Arrive in Manja, a small, isolated town that offers a peaceful retreat. After a day of adventure, spend the night in Manja, resting and reflecting on your off-road exploration.

Day 8Manja to Andavadoaka

Drive along rugged off-road terrain toward the Mozambique Channel, enjoying the scenic journey  through remote landscapes. Upon arrival in Andavadoaka, a charming fishing village known for its stunning turquoise waters, unwind and relax on the beautiful beach. The peaceful atmosphere and crystal-clear waters make it the perfect spot to soak in the natural beauty of Madagascar’s coastline. Spend the night at an eco-lodge by the sea, where you can enjoy the serenity and connect with nature in this idyllic setting.

Day 9 Andavadoaka to Salary

Continue along the wild coastline, making a stop at Salary, a hidden gem renowned for its pristine white sandy beaches and crystal-clear lagoon. Day 10 Salary to Ifaty

Day 11Ifaty to Isalo

Day 12 Isalo (Hiking in Isalo National Park)

Embark on a full-day trek through the stunning Isalo massif, where you’ll explore dramatic canyons, refreshing natural pools, and picturesque waterfalls. Day 14 Ranomafana (Visit to Ranomafana National Park)

Day 15 Ranomafana to Antsirabe

Day 16 Antsirabe to Antananarivo

Return to Antananarivo, with a scenic stop in Ambatolampy to visit a traditional aluminum foundry, where you can witness skilled artisans crafting unique metal products. Afterward, continue your journey to the capital, where you can enjoy some last-minute souvenir shopping, picking up handmade crafts and local treasures. Spend your final night in Antananarivo, reflecting on your incredible adventures in Madagascar and savoring the last moments in this vibrant city.

Day 17 Transfer

Transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule, ensuring a smooth and timely departure.
