Arrive at Kigali International Airport where you will be welcomed by your private guide and transferred to your hotel.

After check-in and some relaxation, enjoy a Kigali city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, explore local neighborhoods and markets, and experience the city’s clean streets, vibrant culture and modern atmosphere.

After breakfast, depart Kigali for Akagera National Park, approximately a two-hour drive away.

Arrive in time for lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive across the park’s savannah, woodland and wetland landscapes. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, lions, rhinos, hippos and numerous antelope species.

Rise early for a morning game drive when wildlife is particularly active. Continue exploring the park’s diverse habitats while searching for more wildlife and bird species.

After lunch, enjoy a boat safari on Lake Ihema, offering opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds along the shoreline. Akagera is Rwanda’s savannah and Big Five safari destination.

After breakfast, drive back towards Kigali and continue north to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Rwanda’s rolling hills and volcanic landscapes along the way. Depending on arrival time, visit a local community or enjoy an optional cultural experience.

Today is the highlight of your Rwanda adventure.

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your mountain gorilla trek. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find the gorillas, you will have a memorable opportunity to observe them in their natural forest environment.

Volcanoes National Park is Rwanda’s premier gorilla destination and is also home to golden monkeys and spectacular volcanic landscapes.

Return to your lodge for a well-earned evening of relaxation.

After breakfast, visit the beautiful Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, surrounded by volcanic mountains and green countryside.

Continue towards Lake Kivu, one of Rwanda’s most scenic destinations. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon along the lakeshore, with optional kayaking or boat activities.

Travel south along the scenic Congo Nile Trail towards Nyungwe National Park, one of Africa’s oldest rainforests and an important habitat for chimpanzees and other primates.

Enjoy a nature experience in the forest, with the option of the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walkway, offering panoramic views over the rainforest.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some free time for shopping and last-minute sightseeing.
