Besides ancestral Antemoro papermaking and silk weaving, Ambalavao village distinguishes itself by the two symbols Zebu and Tobacco. Penetrate through national parks in the discovery of its features such as Ranomafana National Park known for bamboo lemurs. End your journey in pure relaxation at gentle Ifaty lagoon along the Mozambique Channel.

Itinerary

Day 01Antananarivo - Arrival

Upon arrival, our guide will welcome you at the hall of the airport. Later be transferred to the hotel for dinner and overnight, Le Louvre hotel.The building is situated at the center of Antananarivo which makes it an ideal place for customers. Their rooms are air-conditioned and offer outstanding comfort. Whatsoever, meals in the restaurant are European and island flavors

Day 02Antananarivo – Antsirabe

After breakfast at the hotel, meet with our guide for the start of safari to the south passing Antananarivo. Rice fields and typical villages of the Highlands decorates the path right after Antananarivo. Get your first stop at Ambatolampy in the discovery of the fantastic work of aluminum to make a cooking pot. At noon take your route to Antsirabe. There will an optional activity at the city tour experiencing “pousse-pousse”.meals and night to be spent at Plumeria

Day 03 Antsirabe – Ranomafana

Stay on road N7 for progress to the south and shop around Ambositra. You will get an opportunity to see carved wood or a piece of marquetry box made with care at the Zafimaniry artisan’s workshop. Stroll the town before moving to Ranomafana, the heart of Betsileo tribe. It is the highest part of Madagascar, and the road is winding as well. Turn east arriving at the rainforest at late noon. Day 04 Ranomafana – Fianarantsoa

Jump into the Ranomafana national park and find out the beautiful sites in the rainforest and the primary forest. Be accompanied by our local guide in this humid area and carry with you waterproofs gargets. You can see various species of lemurs such as Golden bamboo lemur (Hapalemur aureus), red-fronted brown lemur (Eulemur fulvus), and red-bellied lemur (Eulemur rubriventer). There are also some rare and endangered species such as Greater bamboo lemur (Hapalemur simus). Botanically the park is genetic reservoir to some rare, endemic plant species, and many medicinal plants. Drive back to Fianarantsoa for meals and night stay at Sylvestre

Day 05Fianarantsoa -Anja reserve – Ranohira

Leave the highlands at Ambalavao for a visit to the Antemoro paper factory. This process of papermaking was introduced in Madagascar in the XVth century by the first Arabic migrants to transcribe the Koran. The process is also repeated at Ambalavao. See some lemurs in Anja reserve at the huge granite rock foothill before continuing to the southwest. Enter Bara region crossing the largest plateau of Madagascar constituted by herbaceous steppe topped with termite’s nests. Arrive at Ranohira for dinner and night stay at Jardin Du Roy which is close to Isalo massif and the National Park gate.

Day 06 Visit of Isalo National Park

Take a short drive to Isalo foothill then gently walk through the impressive landscape, canyons, natural pool, and magic rock erosions. It is a massif continental sandstone plateau from the Jurassic era with many rock formations of different shapes. Its nature is adapted to dry climate, and the park has different ecosystem endemic rupicolous flora such as Aloe. Picnic at Tapia forest as meals and night stay at the hotel same as the previous day.

Day 07 Ranohira -Tulear –Ifaty

Wake up early in the morning and drive to Tulear through different botanical settings. On your way, you will see Mahafaly tribe typical tombs so nicely painted and decorated, on which are erected some amazing wooden sculptures and the sea can be seen far away before reaching Tulear. Walk across the market before taking lunch and afterward take your route to Ifaty. Meals and dinner at Dunes D’ifaty.

Day 8Day at leisure at Ifaty

There will include an optional activity for all the visitors on the edges of Mozambique. You can take sea and the lagoon: diving, dugout ride with Vezo fishers, swim or just leisure. Hikers can discover the inland, specific and extraordinary vegetation composed of euphorbia, baobab, and many more
