Your adventure begins in Accra, Ghana’s vibrant capital city. Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is reserved for relaxation after your journey. In the evening, you will enjoy a welcome briefing and dinner, where the tour leader will introduce the itinerary, festival details, safety tips, currency, and local customs. Guests who are energetic may choose to explore light nightlife nearby.
The next day is devoted to discovering Accra’s major cultural and historical landmarks. You will visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Independence/Black Star Square, and parts of historic Jamestown. There will also be time to browse at the Arts Centre or local markets for fabrics and souvenirs. After some rest in the afternoon, you will prepare for the upcoming festival days and have the option to enjoy pre-events or social gatherings happening around the city.
The first day of the AfroFuture Festival brings music, dance, culture, and celebration. The morning is free for rest, pool time, or shopping, and in the afternoon you will head to the festival venue. You will enjoy live concert performances, DJs, art installations, food vendors, and a vibrant display of African fashion and creativity. After the show, you will return to your hotel for overnight.
The second festival day allows you to dive even deeper into the energy of AfroFuture. After a relaxed morning and lunch at your leisure, you will return to the festival grounds in the evening for another lineup of artists and performances. Guests who choose VIP upgrades will enjoy additional amenities if included in their package. After the event, you will again be transferred back to your hotel.
This day is dedicated to heritage and remembrance. You will travel to Cape Coast and visit Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle, two powerful UNESCO-recognized sites of the transatlantic slave trade. Guided tours explain the history of the castles and the “Door of No Return.” A seaside lunch and quiet reflective time are included before returning to Accra in the evening.
Another day focuses on culture, identity, and connection with the local community. Guests may participate in a traditional naming ceremony conducted by local elders, accompanied by drumming and dance. You may also visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre or other Pan-African heritage sites. In the evening, you will experience Accra’s lively nightlife, beach parties, or rooftop lounges.
This day is designed for flexibility and rest. Options include a visit to Aburi Botanical Gardens, waterfalls, a beach day, spa relaxation, or personal exploration of cafés and boutiques. Travelers can also shop for African fashion, artwork, beads, and fabrics or arrange photo shoots in scenic locations.
On your final morning, you will enjoy breakfast and check out of your hotel. Depending on your flight time, there may be some free time for last-minute shopping or relaxation. You will then be transferred to Kotoka International Airport for your onward journey, taking home unforgettable memories of music, culture, history, and the AfroFuture experience.
