Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Bujumbura & City Tour

Upon arrival at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport, you will be welcomed by your professional guide and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, begin exploring Burundi’s largest city with visits to the Independence Monument, the Livingstone-Stanley Monument, Prince Louis Rwagasore Mausoleum, and the bustling Central Market. Later, enjoy a relaxing walk along the shores of Lake Tanganyika before a welcome dinner overlooking the lake.

Day 2Rusizi National Park & Gishora Drum Sanctuary

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic boat safari through Rusizi National Park, where you’ll have the opportunity to spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, and numerous bird species in their natural habitat. Continue to Gitega to visit the famous Gishora Drum Sanctuary and witness a spectacular performance by Burundi’s legendary Royal Drummers. Learn about the history and cultural importance of traditional drumming before returning to Bujumbura in the evening.
