Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Nouakchott

Arrival in Nouakchott, the coastal capital city. Meet and greet with your guide and transfer to your hotel. Evening at leisure to rest after international travel.

Day 2City Markets & Fishing Port Experience

Explore the lively capital, including the bustling fish market, where daily catches arrive directly from the Atlantic. Visit artisan areas and experience the coastal lifestyle of local communities.

Day 3Journey to Banc d’Arguin National Park

Travel north along the Atlantic coast to Banc d’Arguin National Park, a UNESCO-listed sanctuary known for its rich marine biodiversity and migratory bird populations. Arrive at coastal lodge or eco-camp.

Day 4Birdwatching & Island Boat Safari

Enjoy a guided boat excursion through the shallow waters and islands of Banc d’Arguin. Observe flamingos, pelicans, and other migratory bird species in their natural habitat. Afternoon relaxation by the coast.

Day 5Desert Transition: Drive to Adrar Region

Leave the coast behind and travel inland toward the Adrar desert region. The landscape gradually transforms from dunes and plains to rocky plateaus and desert valleys. Overnight in a desert lodge or camp.

Day 6Terjit Oasis & Desert Walk

Visit the beautiful Terjit Oasis, a hidden green valley surrounded by cliffs and palm groves. Enjoy natural spring pools and a guided walk through surrounding desert terrain.

Day 7 Chinguetti Cultural Heritage Tour

Explore the ancient desert town of Chinguetti, one of Islam’s historic learning centers and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover old libraries, mosques, and traditional architecture.

Day 8 Return to Nouakchott & Departure

Drive back to Nouakchott for airport transfer. End of the journey.
