The tour continues through Badagry, Abeokuta, Akure, Osogbo, Ilorin, and Abuja, showcasing the country’s diverse traditions, history, and landscapes. Highlights include visits to iconic sites such as Olumo Rock, Idanre Hills, the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove, and Gurara Falls.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Lagos

Upon arrival in Lagos, the activities for the day will depend on the arrival time. Guests will begin with a Lagos city tour, starting with a visit to the National Museum Lagos to learn about Nigeria’s rich history and cultural heritage. The tour will continue to Freedom Park Island, a historic landmark and cultural center. In the evening, guests will enjoy Lagos nightlife and dinner before returning to the hotel for the night.

Day 2Badagry City Tour

The day begins with a trip to Badagry, one of Nigeria’s most historically significant towns. Visitors will explore the Badagry Heritage Museum and the First Storey Building in Nigeria, both key sites linked to colonial and slave-trade history. The tour also includes learning about the Brazilian Barracoon history, followed by a boat cruise to Gberefu Island. Along the way, guests will visit the Point of No Return (Door of No Return) and learn about the pre-colonial kingdoms and historical trade routes in the region. Dinner will be served before returning to the hotel.

Day 3Abeokuta City Tour

Guests will depart for Abeokuta and begin exploring the city’s cultural landmarks. The day includes a hike and visit to Olumo Rock, an iconic natural formation with historical significance to the Egba people. The tour continues to the Adire Textile Market, where visitors can learn about traditional indigo-dyed fabrics. A visit to the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Museum will provide insight into Nigeria’s political and historical development. Dinner follows before returning to the hotel.

Day 4Drive to Akure, Ondo State

After breakfast, guests will travel approximately 5–6 hours to Akure in Ondo State. Activities include exploring the breathtaking Idanre Hills, a UNESCO-recognized cultural landscape. Visitors will also explore the ancient town of Idanre and learn about its spiritual traditions, history, and shrines. Dinner will be served before checking into the hotel in Akure.

Day 5Osun–Osogbo Cultural Tour

Travel continues to Osogbo in Osun State. The day includes a visit to the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its shrines and spiritual significance in Yoruba culture. Guests will also visit Nike Art Gallery and explore the Susan Wenger Shrine, interacting with local artists and community members. Dinner will be provided before returning to the hotel.

Day 6Travel to Ilorin, Kwara State

Guests will depart for Ilorin in Kwara State. Activities include experiencing the Erin-Ile Masquerade tradition, visiting the Esie Cultural Museum, which houses Nigeria’s famous soapstone figures, and touring an Aso Oke weaving center to observe the traditional weaving of Yoruba ceremonial fabric. Dinner will follow before returning to the hotel.

Day 7Ilorin City Tour

The Ilorin city tour includes a visit to the Emir’s Palace, offering insights into the region’s traditional governance and Islamic heritage. Guests will also visit Dada Pottery, a renowned pottery center, and explore Sobi Hill, a scenic landmark overlooking the city. Dinner will be served before returning to the hotel.

Day 8Ilorin Cultural Experience and Travel to Abuja

Activities continue in Ilorin with a visit to the University of Ilorin Zoological Garden and a relaxing experience at the University of Ilorin Lake. After lunch and dinner arrangements, guests will take a flight to Abuja for the next phase of the tour.

Day 9 Abuja City Tour

Upon arrival in Abuja, guests will be picked up and begin exploring Nigeria’s capital city. The tour includes a visit to the National Museum Abuja and the National Church of Nigeria, one of the country’s most impressive religious landmarks. The evening will include dinner and nightlife before returning to the hotel.

Day 10Abuja Exploration

The Abuja tour continues with a visit to Millennium Park, the largest public park in the city, followed by a visit to the Discovery Abuja Museum. Guests will also enjoy time at Jabi Lake, a popular recreational and scenic destination. Dinner will be served before returning to the hotel.

Day 11Zuma Rock and Gurara Waterfalls Excursion

Guests will take an excursion outside Abuja to visit the iconic Zuma Rock, a massive natural monolith often referred to as the “Gateway to Abuja.” The trip will also include a visit to Gurara Waterfalls, known for its impressive cascades and natural beauty. The day also features a cultural visit to Wuse Market/Kwari pottery area of the Gwari people to learn about their traditions. Dinner will follow before returning to Abuja for overnight.
