Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Douala

Upon arrival at Douala International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your local representative, who will assist you with immigration formalities and baggage collection before accompanying you to your hotel in the residential district of Bonapriso.

After checking in at La Falaise Bonapriso, you will have time to relax or take a short walk around the neighborhood.
In the evening, a welcome dinner will be served at the hotel’s restaurant, where your guide will also present the program for the coming days.
Overnight in Douala.

Day 2Douala → Bandjoun → Bafoussam

After breakfast, you will leave Douala and head toward the highlands of Western Cameroon, renowned for their chiefdoms and artistic traditions.

Your first stop is Bandjoun, one of the most important Bamileke chiefdoms.
Visit the Chief’s Palace and its museum, which showcase the history, rituals, and cultural evolution of the Bandjoun people.

Continue through rolling green hills to Bafoussam, regional capital of the West, where you will check in at Hotel Zingana for dinner and overnight.

Day 3Bafoussam → Foumban → Bangou

After breakfast, depart for Foumban, the historic center of the Bamoun Kingdom.
Visit the magnificent Sultan’s Palace and its royal museum, home to ancestral masks, bronze artworks, ritual objects, and regalia spanning several centuries.

You will also see the grand mosque and stroll through the lively artisan quarter, where sculptors, blacksmiths, and embroiderers display their craft.

Late afternoon, continue to Bangou, a charming highland village.
Dinner and overnight at Tagidor Garden Resort.

Day 4Bangou → Dschang → Buea

After an early breakfast, travel across the western plateau toward Dschang, a cool scenic town perched in the mountains.
Visit the Museum of Civilizations, offering an insightful journey through Cameroon’s history from precolonial times to the present.

The road then descends into the warm plains of Mbo before rising again toward the Southwest Region.
Arrive in Buea, located on the slopes of Mount Cameroon—the highest peak in Central and West Africa.
Check in at Mountain Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5Cultural Encounters in Buea → Limbe

Enjoy breakfast with views of Mount Cameroon, then take a guided tour of Buea, former capital of German colonial rule, still home to many historic buildings.

You will then be received in Bonalyonga, seat of the traditional Bakweri chiefdom.
If the paramount chief is present, a courtesy visit will be arranged; otherwise, local notables will present the history and culture of the Bakweri people.

After this cultural immersion, drive down to the coast to reach Limbe.
Visit the Bakingili lava flow site (eruption of 1999), then the Bonangombe slave relics, marking the region’s former “point of no return.”

Enjoy a seafood dinner at Down Beach before checking in at Marcsons Hotels & Resorts for the night.

Day 6Free Day in Limbe – Nature, Heritage & Relaxation

This day is dedicated to relaxation and gentle exploration.
After breakfast, visit the Limbe Botanic Garden, one of the oldest in Central Africa, featuring medicinal plants, exotic trees, and shaded walkways.

Optionally, visit the Limbe Wildlife Centre, known for its rehabilitation and conservation work with primates.

The afternoon is free: enjoy the volcanic black-sand beaches, stroll along the coast, or relax at your hotel.
Dinner and overnight in Limbe.

Day 7Limbe → Douala

After breakfast, you leave Limbe and make your way back to Douala, arriving in the late morning. You then embark on a guided city tour beginning in the administrative district of Bonanjo, where colonial-era buildings reflect the city’s layered past. The visit continues to the historic Pagoda of King Bell, before moving onward to the lively streets of Akwa and the bustling central market. Later, you explore the residential neighborhoods of Bonamoussadi, Makepe, and Kotto, offering insight into Douala’s modern urban lifestyle. In the early evening, you return to La Falaise Bonapriso for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 8Free Day in Douala

Your final full day in Douala is designed for flexibility and personal interest. You may choose to browse local craft markets for souvenirs, visit the Maritime Museum to delve deeper into the region’s maritime history, or enjoy a scenic pirogue ride along the Wouri River. For those seeking relaxation, the hotel provides a comfortable environment to unwind, while optional excursions—such as a visit to Japoma Stadium or a short drive toward Edéa—can be arranged on request. In the evening, you enjoy your last dinner in Cameroon as you prepare for the following day’s departure.

Day 9Departure from Douala

After breakfast, enjoy some free time depending on your flight schedule—perhaps a final walk around Bonapriso.

Check out, then transfer to Douala International Airport for your return flight, concluding a journey rich in cultural, historical, and coastal discoveries.
