This itinerary combines coastal relaxation, cultural exploration, wildlife encounters, and immersive eco-tourism for a well-balanced and unforgettable adventure.
Upon arrival at Douala International Airport (DLA), you are greeted by the driver from K Hotel Douala, where an airport transfer has been reserved in advance. You are taken to the hotel to check in, shower, rest, and recover from your flight.
If you still have energy in the late afternoon, you may take a short walk around the Bonanjo district, exploring the park and nearby streets to get a first feel for Douala’s administrative centre.
In the evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel’s Kotcha Restaurant or on the rooftop terrace, both known for excellent cuisine and a great breakfast.
Overnight at K Hotel Douala.
After breakfast at K Hotel, your driver picks you up around 08:30–09:00 for the journey to Kribi. You drive south through lush tropical vegetation, passing through Edéa on a 2.5–3-hour trip.
Late morning arrival at Les Gîtes de Kribi, where you check into your bungalow or chalet—ideally with an ocean or river view. Enjoy lunch at the on-site oceanfront restaurant “Au Plaisir du Goût”, offering French and local dishes with panoramic views over the Atlantic.
The afternoon is dedicated to relaxation: swim in the pool, enjoy the jacuzzi, or take a peaceful walk along the beach. At sunset, enjoy a drink at the beach bar before dinner at the hotel or a nearby seaside restaurant.
Overnight at Les Gîtes de Kribi.
After a relaxing breakfast, depart around 09:30 by taxi or hotel-arranged car to the Lobé Waterfalls, just 10–15 minutes from Kribi. Board a traditional pirogue to approach the spectacular site where the Lobé River flows directly into the Atlantic Ocean—a unique natural phenomenon.
Lunch is taken at one of the small restaurants around the waterfalls, where fresh fish and prawns are grilled on the spot.
In the afternoon, visit nearby beaches, browse local crafts, or simply return to the lodge to enjoy the pool, terrace, or a massage.
Dinner is served at the lodge, followed by a peaceful ocean-side evening.
Overnight at Les Gîtes de Kribi.
This day is dedicated to rest and exploration. In the morning, enjoy a long beach walk from the lodge toward the Kribi lighthouse and fishing port, or relax and swim.
Lunch is taken at a beachfront restaurant recommended by the lodge.
In the afternoon, explore central Kribi, its small market, and cafés, or take another pirogue excursion—perhaps at sunset if you particularly enjoyed the previous outing.
Your final Kribi dinner is at “Au Plaisir du Goût”, with lovely ocean views.
Overnight at Les Gîtes de Kribi.
After an early breakfast and check-out, depart around 08:00 toward Yaoundé (approx. 3.5–4 hours), then continue another 1–1.5 hours south to Nkolmetet and Oveng Lodge Éco Hôtel & Spa.
Arrive mid-afternoon, check into your room or bungalow, and enjoy a late lunch or snack at the main restaurant, Le Boukarou Principal.
The rest of the day is free to explore the surroundings, stroll along the trails or waterfront, or simply rest. This is also a good moment to book massages, aromatherapy, or nature activities for the coming days.
Dinner and overnight at Oveng Lodge.
Today is dedicated to slowing down and enjoying the natural environment. After breakfast overlooking the forest, take a guided nature walk to discover local flora, birds, and scenery.
Return to the lodge for a restful afternoon: reading, journaling, sitting by the water, or enjoying a spa treatment (massage, aromatherapy, etc.).
Dinner at the lodge, followed by a peaceful evening surrounded by the nighttime sounds of the forest.
Overnight at Oveng Lodge.
After an early breakfast, depart Oveng Lodge for a full-day visit to the Mefou Primate Sanctuary (Ape Action Africa) near Yaoundé (1.5–2 hours’ drive).
Arrive in time for the 09:30 guided tour (reservation required). During this 1.5-hour visit, walk through the forested sanctuary and observe gorillas, chimpanzees, and various monkey species while learning about rescue and conservation efforts.
Lunch is taken at a simple restaurant in Yaoundé or as a picnic prepared by your driver/guide.
In the afternoon, make a short panoramic tour of Yaoundé, stopping at notable buildings or a craft market for souvenirs.
Return to Oveng Lodge in the late afternoon.
Dinner and overnight at Oveng Lodge.
After breakfast, depart with your driver/guide for the Ebogo Ecotourism Site near Mbalmayo, known for its pirogue trips on the Nyong River and its enormous “millennium tree.”
Upon arrival, meet your local guide and board a pirogue for a peaceful 30-minute ride along the forest-lined Nyong River.
Late morning, walk through the forest to reach the giant tree—often identified as a sapele or kossipo—believed to be several centuries old and several meters in diameter.
Lunch is taken in a small village restaurant serving traditional Cameroonian dishes or as a picnic.
In the afternoon, enjoy free time for a second pirogue trip, birdwatching, or relaxing by the river.
Return to Oveng Lodge mid-afternoon for your final dinner and overnight.
Overnight at Oveng Lodge.
Depending on your flight schedule from Yaoundé–Nsimalen Airport (NSI), leave Oveng Lodge with enough time to account for traffic and travel duration.
Settle any personal expenses at the lodge (spa treatments, drinks, extras). You are then driven to the airport for check-in and boarding.
Your journey through Cameroon comes to an end—after discovering Douala, the beaches of Kribi, the Lobé Waterfalls, the Mefou Primate Sanctuary, and the peaceful forests around Oveng and Ebogo.
