Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Bissau – City of Contrast

Arrive in Bissau and transfer to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy a guided afternoon city tour. Walk through colonial avenues, visit the Presidential Palace ruins, and explore the open-air Bandim Market. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant with live music.

Day 2Ferry to Bubaque Island – Into the Bijagós Archipelago

Depart early by boat to Bubaque, one of the most inhabited Bijagós islands. Upon arrival, explore the small town, and take a walk along pristine beaches. Later, visit a traditional village and learn about matriarchal customs and animist beliefs from a local guide.

Day 3Orango Island – Ritual & Nature

Take a boat to Orango Island, known for its sacred forests, hippopotamus lagoons, and rich spiritual life. Visit a tabanca (village) and meet priestesses who play key roles in local society. Return to Bubaque for dinner and overnight.

Day 4Island Leisure & Cultural Performance

Spend your day relaxing on the beach, exploring mangrove channels by canoe, or visiting nearby islets. In the evening, enjoy a cultural performance with music and dance offered by local youth.

Day 5Return to Bissau & Departure

After breakfast, take the boat back to Bissau. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy free time for souvenirs or a visit to the National Ethnographic Museum before transfer to the airport.
