This 5-day trip takes you from the heart of Tripoli to the legendary Roman cities of Leptis Magna and Sabratha, and into the Berber highlands of Jebel Nafusa, where traditional Amazigh life still thrives. It offers a compact but complete introduction to Libya’s unique blend of classical heritage and desert culture.
You’ll be welcomed at Mitiga International Airport and transferred to your hotel in central Tripoli. In the afternoon, take a relaxed walking tour of the Old Medina, Martyrs’ Square, and the Arch of Marcus Aurelius. In the evening, enjoy your first taste of Libyan cuisine at a local restaurant.

After breakfast, take a scenic drive east (approx. 2 hours) to Leptis Magna, a world-renowned Roman city built under Emperor Septimius Severus. Explore the Forum, Basilica, Amphitheatre, Baths, and Market, many with inscriptions still visible. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the sea before returning to Tripoli for dinner and rest.

Today you’ll head west along the coast to Sabratha, another UNESCO-listed Roman site known for its spectacular theater, Capitolium temple, and mosaics. After exploring the ruins, stop for a seafood lunch overlooking the Mediterranean. Return to Tripoli in the afternoon and visit the Red Castle Museum, if time allows.

Depart early for the Jebel Nafusa mountains, a Berber heartland with stunning desert-mountain views. Visit traditional Amazigh villages like Gharyan (known for cave homes), Nalut, or Yefren.
