This 3-day itinerary gives you a snapshot of Libya’s rich legacy—from the Roman masterpiece of Leptis Magna to the lively markets and historic mosques of Tripoli, and the mountain villages of Jebel Nafusa. It’s perfect for travelers short on time but eager to experience Libya’s essence.
Upon arrival at Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your central hotel. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour of the Old Medina, visit the Arch of Marcus Aurelius, stroll around Martyrs’ Square, and sip tea in a local café. If time allows, visit the Red Castle Museum, which holds artifacts from Phoenician, Roman, and Islamic times. Enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional Libyan restaurant.

After breakfast, depart for Leptis Magna, one of the greatest Roman cities outside Italy (approx. 2 hrs east of Tripoli). Explore the sprawling ruins: the Basilica, Severan Arch, amphitheatre, market, and Hadrianic Baths—all incredibly well preserved. After a picnic lunch near the ancient port, return to Tripoli in the afternoon. Free evening to relax or walk the Corniche.

After an early breakfast, take a short excursion southwest into the Jebel Nafusa mountains. Visit Gharyan, known for its underground Berber homes, and enjoy a traditional mint tea with locals. If time allows, stop at a granary fortress in Nalut or Qasr al-Haj. Return to Tripoli for lunch or airport transfer, depending on your flight time.
