After breakfast, embark on a guided Antananarivo city tour starting with a visit to the iconic Queen’s Palace (Rova of Antananarivo). This historic site is a revered symbol of the Merina Kingdom, which unified Madagascar as a modern state. Perched on the city’s highest hill, the palace serves as a sacred burial site for Merina royalty since 1817 and offers panoramic views of Antananarivo.

The tour continues with a scenic drive down Independence Avenue, a bustling commercial hub, and past the tranquil Anosy Lake, where you can observe the blend of cultures that define the Malagasy capital.

In the early afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Ivato International Airport for your domestic flight to Morondava on the west coast (Departure: 2:40 PM / Arrival: 3:50 PM). Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred directly to your beachfront hotel, where you can unwind and enjoy a peaceful afternoon of beach relaxation in Madagascar.

After breakfast, begin your adventure with a visit to the vibrant Menabe local market, a true reflection of the region’s culture and daily life. This market experience offers a glimpse into the authentic lifestyle of western Madagascar.

We then head north along a scenic 42 km drive on a rustic secondary road, passing through the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs – a must-see highlight during the day when these majestic trees are beautifully lit by the sun. Enjoy photo stops and take in the surreal landscape before continuing on to Kirindy Forest Reserve.

Upon arrival, check in at Relais du Kirindy, your eco-lodge nestled near the forest. At around 6:30 PM, set out on a guided night walk in Kirindy Reserve, one of Madagascar’s top destinations for nocturnal wildlife viewing.

Kirindy is the best place in the country to spot the elusive fosa, Madagascar’s top predator. Other rare nocturnal species include the Coquerel’s giant mouse lemur, pygmy mouse lemur, fork-marked lemur, grey mouse lemur, red-tailed sportive lemur, and the western fat-tailed dwarf lemur. You’ll also have the chance to see various bats, tenrecs, mongoose, and other endemic rodents that make Kirindy a unique biodiversity hotspot.

Your first stop is Nosy Komba, the second-largest island after Nosy Be. Next, continue to Nosy Tanikely, a protected marine reserve just a short boat ride away. With only a mask and snorkel, you’ll discover an underwater paradise – a natural aquarium teeming with life just meters from the shore. Swim among colorful coral reefs, sea anemones, schools of tropical fish, crustaceans, and with luck, sea turtles.

Take a short walk to the island’s lighthouse, where you’ll encounter lemurs, dogfish, lizards, chameleons, and butterflies along the way—highlighting the island’s remarkable biodiversity both above and below water.

Return to your Nosy Be hotel around 5:00 PM, with memories of an extraordinary day filled with nature, culture, and coastal beauty.
