Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Freetown – Welcome to Sierra Leone

Arrive at Freetown International Airport and meet your local representative for your transfer to Freetown, using the appropriate road and/or boat connection. Check in to your hotel and enjoy time to relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, take a short orientation drive or enjoy an evening stroll along the city’s waterfront before settling in for the night.

Day 2Freetown City Tour – History, Heritage & Local Markets

After breakfast, embark on a guided city tour exploring Freetown’s historical and cultural landmarks. Visit the National Museum and important historic sites, subject to opening hours and access. Learn about the city’s founding and its significance in the history of formerly enslaved Africans. Continue to local markets to discover fresh produce, traditional fabrics, handicrafts and everyday Sierra Leonean life. Return to your hotel after a day of cultural exploration.

Day 3Tacugama & the Freetown Peninsula – Nature and Culture

Enjoy breakfast before heading into the forested hills of the Western Area Peninsula. Visit Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary to learn about chimpanzee conservation and wildlife protection. Continue through the peninsula’s scenic landscapes, with opportunities to appreciate local communities, green hills and coastal viewpoints. Return to Freetown in the late afternoon for a relaxing evening.

Day 4River No. 2 & Tokeh Beach – Coastal Relaxation

After breakfast, travel along the picturesque Freetown Peninsula to discover some of Sierra Leone’s best-known beaches. Enjoy the natural beauty of River No. 2 Beach, where a scenic river meets the Atlantic Ocean, then continue to Tokeh Beach for time to relax, take photographs and enjoy the tropical coastal atmosphere. Swimming and optional activities depend on sea conditions and local safety guidance. Return to Freetown for your final evening.

Day 5Freetown – Departure

Enjoy breakfast and some free time, depending on your flight schedule. You may browse local shops for souvenirs or enjoy a final view of Freetown before transferring to Freetown International Airport via the appropriate departure connection. Depart Sierra Leone with memorable experiences of its history, culture and Atlantic coastline.
