We will then have a Stop-over at the viewpoint to appreciate the endless view of the Namib. Our lunch at the Solitaire oasis. We will arrive at the lodge or campsite at around 3-4 pm. This time is extremely hot; we recommend that you spend the day cooling off by the pool. Early rest is required as tomorrow you are expected to wake early in the morning.

Day 2Dune 45, Sossusvlei - Desert Experience

Early in the morning, at sunrise, we will visit the Sesriem Gate to the remarkable Sossusvlei. We start off with climbing picturesque Dune 45, experiencing the beauty and vastness of the Orange-colored landscape. Off-road drive to the Dead Vlei, a place of Vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient acacias stand silent in the impressive, open-air gallery. If you have enough energy, you can climb one of the highest dunes on Earth, the ‚Big Daddy ‘or ‚Big Mama. After the morning excursion, we will return back to Sesriem for lunch. We will take a break for 1-2 hours. Once the heat subsides, we will take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. These will be our last activities for the day.

Day 4Swakopmund to Skeleton Coast

Today our adventure takes us through the infamous Skeleton Coast National Park all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. The Skeleton Coast is a very desolate but fascinating area. It is known for the Welwitschia mirabilis, the Northern Namibia sand sea, the derelict oil rig near Toscanini, the Huab lagoon and the diminishing remains of the Winston Shipwreck. On exiting the national park we stop for Instagram-worthy photos of the iconic skull and crossbones gate.

We arrive at Cape Cross lodge afternoon where we you will spend the overnight and have the opportunity for a sunset walk on the beach.

Day 5Skeleton Coast – Swakopmund

Today we take a short walk to the Cape Cross Reserve. The reserve is home to one of the world’s largest breeding colonies of Cape Fur seals and during the breeding season (November-December) up to 200 000 plus seals can be spotted basking on the beach– a unique sight and smell to behold. After our visit to the seal colony, we continue traveling along the Skeleton Coast. Along the way, we stop to view the Zeila Shipwreck, one of the latest victims of the infamous Skeleton Coast from as recent as 2007.

Early this afternoon we reach Swakopmund, Namibia’s top seaside destination. The rest of the day is free for you to do some sightseeing and explore the quaint town on foot. Dinner tonight is at your own expense in one of Swakopmund’s excellent restaurants and our guide will be happy to make recommendations or bookings depending on what we feel like.
